Webuzo 2.8.2 Launched

The Webuzo Team has launched 2.8.2. The following is the list of changes :

1) [Feature] : Added settings in Webuzo Admin panel to Pre-select or to Force Auto Upgrade WordPress Plugins and Themes feature.

2) [Task] : cPanel import was not working due to old cPanel API used, now implemented with new cPanel API.

3) [Task] : If SSL is configured for Webuzo panel then non secure port 2002 for enduser and 2004 for admin panel will be redirected to secure ports.

4) [Improvement] : Improved the SitePad installer so users can choose the theme on the install form in Webuzo itself.

5) [Improvement] : Added support for IDN characters in directory name when installing WordPress in a sub directory. (support for IDN domains was already available).

6) [Bug Fix] : The SSL certificate used for FTP services was not set to auto renewed due to which the webuzo service was stopped. This is fixed now.

7) [Bug Fix] : While installing a script that needs a Cron Job to run, the validation of cron time did not allow usage of “/” causing error while using cron time as */5, etc. This validation has been fixed now.

8) [Bug Fix] : Cron edited for auto backup was adding duplicate cron job. This is fixed now.

9) [Security Fix] : There was a security issue in Awstats . This is fixed now.

The upcoming version will bring some Improvements, features and changes.

Webuzo 2.7.8 Launched

Hi,

The Webuzo Team has launched 2.7.8. The following is the list of changes :

1) [Feature] : Added support for HTML Email templates. Templates can be customized from Softaculous admin panel -> Settings -> Email Templates

2) [Feature] : Backup and Restore will now be processed in background to avoid timeouts in case of huge installations.

3) [Feature] : Improved the UI to multi select check boxes using Shift key.

4) [Feature] : User can add indentation using TAB in the PHP, Apache and MySQL configuration files from the End user panel.

5) [Update] : Updated ACME protocol to v2 which is used by Let’s Encrypt to issue you a certificate and verify domain.

6) [Bug Fix] : Logo URL was not setting up on Login page when set from Admin panel has been fixed now.

7) [Bug Fix] : In Clone, Staging and Push to Live, when the installation data i.e. URL or path in serialized object format in the database was changed it caused broken objects. This is fixed now.
Note : This error was with serialized objects only, serialized arrays used to work fine.

8) [Bug Fix] : On some servers with very low MySQL wait_timeout configuration Clone, Staging, Push to Live reported MySQL server gone away error. This is fixed now and does not require any change in MySQL server configuration.

9) [Bug Fix] : While restoring the backup of an installation which has a cron job, the restore was completed successfully but the progress bar did not display restore was completed. This is fixed now.

10) [Bug Fix] : The MySQL version requirement check now checks for the corresponding MariaDB version as well.

11) [Bug Fix] : When removing PERL script installation some files/folders were not deleted. This is fixed now.

1) [Security] We have updated EXIM to 4.92 on all CentOS systems. On Ubuntu the patch for EXIM has been applied by the Ubuntu developers.

2) [Feature] : WordPress Mange Plugin / Theme Sets (Admin/Enduser can now create sets of plugins/themes). With this feature you can use the defined sets to be applied to new WordPress installations or even existing WordPress installations. Access Email Accounts using Roundcube on Webuzo

Overview

This guide provides a step by step tutorial to configure email accounts to work on Roundcube

Webuzo allows users to create email account for their domains by deploying the Email Server (Exim + Dovecot) by a click of a button. Exim and Dovecot can be installed from the Webuzo Enduser Panel >> Apps >> Utilities Category.

Webuzo provides SquirrelMail as the default Webmail to access emails of the accounts created from

Roundcube – Free webmail for the masses. Roundcube webmail is a browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface. It provides full functionality you expect from an e-mail client, including MIME support, address book, folder manipulation, message searching and spell checking.
Getting Started

Assumptions :

Dovecot and Exim installed on Webuzo. Restart the services for once.

Root > service exim restart
Root > service dovecot restart

Configuration Settings

=> Server Address : example.com (Domain Name)

=> POP3 PORT : 143 or 143 or 993

=> Connection Type : TLS or NONE or SSL

Email Account Details

=> Email Account : demo@example.com

=> Password : password
Steps

The following steps will guide you to configure Roundcube

1) Login to Webuzo Enduser Panel and navigate to Roundcube in the Mails Category.

2) Click on the install steps and fill in the necessary details.

3) Click on the Install button while Softaculous Webuzo will download and install Roundcube for you.

4) Access and Login to the Roundcube installation with the username password created earlier.

Common Problems :

1) Temporary Connection Failure Confirm that the Dovecot and Exim Services are running on your server.

Since it is a temporary issue, a restart is recommended.

Webuzo Email Server Fix for Mozilla Thunderbird and Outlook

Mozilla Thunderbird is a free, open source, cross-platform email, news, and chat client developed by the Mozilla Foundation and Microsoft Outlook is a personal information manager from Microsoft, available as a part of the Microsoft Office suite.

Follow the guides below to configure your email account created using Webuzo :

If at all you face a “550 Relay not permitted error” or “Authentication Error”, the steps below will fix them all.

Note : This Fix is applicable for CentOS 6.x

Exim Configurations
Open the Exim configuration using your favorite editor

1) auth_advertise_hosts
vi /etc/exim/exim.conf

Replace the line
auth_advertise_hosts =

by

auth_advertise_hosts = *

2) Enable Authenticators

Add the following right after “begin authenticators”

begin authenticators

Save and file and Exim is all ready to be used.

Dovecot Configurations

1) Edit the file 10-auth.conf using your favorite editor.
vi /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-auth.conf

Replace the line
auth_mechanisms = plain

by

auth_mechanisms = plain login

Save the file.

2) Edit the file 10-master.conf using your favorite editor.
vi /etc/dovecot/conf.d/10-master.conf

Replace the following
unix_listener auth-userdb {
#mode = 0600
#user =
#group =
}

by


#unix_listener auth-userdb {
#mode = 0600
#user =
#group =
#}

unix_listener auth-client {
mode = 0666
}

Save the file. That’s it !!!

Restart the Exim and Dovecot services
