We had a look at this one, and basically if all you want is a simple news portal with little interactivity, then fill your boots. Nice idea and could go far ... if developed with a purpose in mind?

If all you need is a simple, lightweight CMS / blog package, sNews fills the bill. It loads fast and is easy to maintain. You aren't going to be able to add sophisticated features without coding. What you get out of the box are 3 levels of menu categories, simple text-based article editor, SEO friendly-links and minimalist publishing. There are mods and add-ons including a multi-user version. The project is maintained by about 3 people but not real actively.
