Action Required: Update Your WHMCS, Blesta, and Clientexec Modules for Webuzo 4.7.1

Important Update for Reseller Hosting Providers Using WHMCS, Blesta, and Clientexec

With the release of Webuzo 4.7.1, reseller account operations have been standardized to work exclusively through the Enduser port.
To ensure uninterrupted provisioning, suspension, termination, password changes, and other reseller-related functions, all hosting providers offering reseller hosting services are strongly advised to update their billing panel modules to the latest versions.

Affected Billing Panels

WHMCS
Blesta
Clientexec

Action Required

Please update your billing panel modules using the latest versions available in our documentation:
WHMCS Module: https://www.webuzo.com/docs/billing/whmcs-shared-hosting-module/
Blesta Module: https://www.webuzo.com/docs/billing/blesta-shared-hosting-module/
Clientexec Module: https://www.webuzo.com/docs/billing/clientexec-shared-hosting-module/

Starting with Webuzo 4.7.1:
Reseller operations will be processed only through the Enduser port.
Older module versions may continue to work for standard end-user accounts but can fail for reseller-related actions.
Failure to update may result in reseller provisioning and management functions not operating correctly.

Why This Change?

This is an important security enhancement introduced in Webuzo 4.7.1.
By moving reseller operations to the Enduser port, administrators can permanently restrict access to the reseller API port (2005) without affecting reseller functionality through supported billing panels. This helps reduce the exposed attack surface and strengthens the overall security of Webuzo deployments.
In addition, this change provides a more consistent and unified API workflow across reseller and end-user operations while aligning all supported billing integrations with the latest Webuzo API architecture.

Recommended Action

We strongly recommend updating your WHMCS, Blesta, or Clientexec modules before upgrading production servers to Webuzo 4.7.1 or later.
After updating the module and confirming reseller functionality, administrators may choose to restrict or block port 2005 as part of their server hardening and security policies.

If you encounter any issues after updating, please contact our support team and we will be happy to assist.

Thank you for choosing Webuzo.
